Hamburg Chamber of Commerce is the self-governing body of Hamburg's business community, representing around local 180,000 enterprises. Our mandate is political lobbying, advocacy and mediation. Politically active yet independent of any party, we advocate for fair competition, market-friendly regulation across all industries, with a particular focus on SMEs. We also serve as an impartial arbitrator, offering alternative dispute resolution services that reduce legal burden and support smooth commercial relations.

With about 700 elected entrepreneurs on its governing committees, 4,100 volunteer examiners supporting vocational education, and approximately 250 staff members, the Chamber is built for impact.  As parnter of three Hamburg Representative Offices in Dubai, Shanghai and Mumbai, and part of the German Chamber Network of 79 local Chambers of Commerce and Industry, 150 German Chambers abroad (AHKs) in 90 countries and our national German Chamber of Commerce and Industry, we support our member companies in access to and growth in international markets.

Strengthening international competitiveness through innovation and international networks is one of the cornerstones of our economic strategy "Hamburg 2040", addressing themes like sustainability, innovation, digital transformation, skill development and legal and international trade frameworks.
